Iao needle:

On our last day, we left Kauai early and had a long layover in Maui, so we rented a car for the afternoon. This is the Iao Needle!

I was sad to say goodbye to my family but it was a good trip and we got to do and see some wonderful things in a beautiful place!

Botanical Gardens:

This is one of my favorite pictures!  Flowers in different parts of the world are incredible.  The very center of the pink and white flowers are so intriguing to me.

Day 251

Fog Over Napali Coast:

Today we drove to the other end of the Napali Coast (its 11 miles long, but you have to drive around the island to get there, its not a straight shot).  We got there just at the right moment, minutes before fog rolled in to fill the entire view.  These cliff faces are absolutely beautiful.

Day 250

Papaya:

Maybe I am too much of a city girl...but I have never cut into a fruit like this!  I almost didn't know how to react, but I thought that it was interesting and definitely picture worthy.

Day 249

The Sandbar:

At this beach there was this beautiful sandbar that stretched out into the ocean.  This picture doesn't show it but it was neat to see waves coming from both sides crashing into each other (the little kids absolutely loved it).

Tahitian Festival:

We went to a Tahitian Festival!  It had delicious foods, beautiful handiwork, loud music, and graceful dancers!  We had a great time!

Day 247

The Napali Coast:

We spent the morning hiking along the Napali Coast!  This part of the island can only be reached by hikers or boaters!  It is absolutely breathtaking!  If you have the chance look up more pictures of the coast cause mine hardly does any justice.  One of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my life!

Day 246

Island Hopping:

Today we traveled to Kauai for 9 days!  This picture is of the beach closest to our hotel!  It was very private and absolutely beautiful.  In this picture I love the reflection of the sky and clouds against the water!

Day 245

Sunset over Lahaina:

My dad taught me that the best sunset pictures actually come within a couple minutes after the sun has already set.  This picture brings proof to that statement!

Day 244

Leis:

My mom, sister and I spent the morning learning how to make leis.  Each orchid costs approximately 10 cents, I had about 70 orchids on mine, but the class was free!!!!

Day 243

Catamaran trip:

We spent the afternoon on a Catamaran, going snorkeling and just enjoying the wonderful weather!  It was a great way to see parts of the island we wouldn't have been able to otherwise!

Day 242

Bamboo Forest:

One of my favorite parts of the island is the trip to Hana! It is absolutely beautiful up there.  There is this magical hike that leads to a huge waterfall and several pools with smaller waterfalls through a bamboo forest.  Definitely one of the major highlights of the trip!

Arrival in Paradise:

Spent 15 days in Hawaii with my family!  The next two weeks of pictures are going to be of our lovely family vacation.
